Introduction

Welcome to the Alabama Quit Now referral page. This page is intended for professional referrals only. Friends and family members of tobacco users are encouraged to have their loved one call 1-800-Quit-Now or visit www.alabamaquitnow.com.

This page will allow you to make electronic referrals to the quitline for telephone or online cessation counseling. You can also track the progress of your referrals by logging back in and reviewing status reports.

Step one is for you to register with the quitline. After providing your registration information, someone from the quitline will contact you or someone in your office to verify you as a professional referrer.

Step two is to log in and begin referring tobacco users. Provide name, phone number, email address, best time to contact and zip code. If an email address is provided on any referral, the tobacco user will receive an email from Alabama Quit Now explaining the cessation counseling options available to them.

Step three is to login and review the progress of your referrals. Status will be uploaded nightly and will include:

• New Referral - a referral not yet processed by us
• Pending Contact - a processed referral where contact has not been made yet
• Intake Completed - contacted and initial intke completed
• In Treatment - at least one counseling session completed
• Inactive - failed to contact, not interested or no longer in program
